WindSync launches the Onstage Offstage Chamber Music Festival.

The festival includes partnerships with local organizations and presenters including the Houston Youth Symphony, Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, Center for Performing Arts Medicine, Archway Gallery, and Young Audiences of Houston to present a variety of concerts and activities that spotlight the breadth of WindSync’s work in the community through innovative and educational programming.

Houston-based conductorless ensemble KINETIC will be featured as guest artist.

Tuesday April 25 | 5:30 pm
Rice University Farmers Market Pop up concert

Stop by the Rice University Farmers Market for fresh produce and local bites with a side of instrumental music. WindSync performs sunny spring selections, and guest artists join in the fun at this festival kick-off event.

Free and open to the public

Location: Rice University Farmers Market, 5600 Greenbriar Drive
Details: Parking is available at Rice Stadium next to the market. Use Entrance 13B off of Greenbriar Drive.

Wednesday April 26 | 11:00 am
Medical Center Crain Garden Lunch hour concert

WindSync is the soundtrack for a relaxing lunch hour at a favorite Medical Center space. Hospital staff, patient families, and visitors from the public are all welcome. Crain Garden provides an open performance setting with a casual, come-and-go atmosphere.

Location: Crain Garden, Houston Methodist Hospital, 6565 Fannin Street
Details: Parking is available in TMC Garage #1 – or use the valet parking available directly in front of the hospital. The Metro Rail Dryden/TMC Station is also located directly in front of the hospital.

Thursday April 27 | 10:30 am
Houston Methodist West Hospital Coffee break concert

Hospital staff, patient families, and visitors from the public are all welcome to attend a casual pop up concert in the bright, spacious lobby of Houston Methodist West Hospital.

Presented by the Center for Performing Arts Medicine
Free and open to the public

Location: Houston Methodist West Hospital Lobby, 18500 Katy Freeway
Details: Please enter through the front entrance of the hospital. Coffee and snacks are available for purchase at Live Oaks Espresso in the third floor Sky Plaza.

Friday April 28 | 7:00 pm
The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts
Main stage concert: The Town Musicians of Houston

WindSync joins forces with KINETIC Ensemble to present a concert celebrating the people and the sounds of the city. Rhythmic verve and folkish melodies weave through works by Miguel del Aguila, Jean Francaix, Alexandra T. Bryant, and Steve Reich.

The evening concludes with Mark Buller’s setting of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale “The Town Musicians of Bremen”, in a special side-by-side performance with the Houston Youth Symphony Coda Music Program.

Levy Park
Family concert: Oh, the Places You’ll Go!

WindSync’s classic family-friendly program uses the words of Dr. Seuss to celebrate National Poetry Month and tell stories through music. Peter and the Wolf (and their friends the duck, the cat, and the little bird) will make an appearance!

This outdoor concert marks the debut of chamber music in one of Houston’s newest public places, the recently revamped Levy Park.

Come for the show and stay to explore.

Archway Gallery 3rd annual concert & brunch benefit

Celebrate the first-ever Onstage Offstage Chamber Music Festival at WindSync’s annual brunch fundraiser.

Enjoy an intimate performance in a gallery space followed by a delicious brunch from LOLA and refreshments provided by Water 2 Wine. Every brunch ticket includes free admission to Friday’s main stage concert, The Town Musicians of Houston.

Details: Limited public parking is available in the lot behind the building, in addition to street parking in the immediate vicinity.

Onstage Offstage Chamber Music Festival is dedicated to making extraordinary chamber music accessible to underserved audiences in concert halls and in non-traditional spaces.

The programming includes a week-long residency in three elementary schools in Houston’s Near Northside neighborhood, concerts at Houston Methodist West Hospital and the Medical Center’s Crain Garden, a concert at Zilkha Hall, and several interactive pop up concerts in Houston’s outdoor spaces.
