WindSync welcomes acclaimed pianist Andrew Staupe to his new home of Houston in a close-up program of music for wind instruments and piano.
Andrew Staupe is a distinctive voice in a new generation of pianists. He has appeared as a soloist with the Baltimore Symphony, San Diego Symphony, Houston Symphony, and Colorado Symphony, and he has collaborated as a chamber musician with Bobby McFerrin, the Assad Brothers, Chee-Yun, Sharon Robinson, and Martin Chalifour. He has recently appeared at the Kennedy Center, the Library of Congress, and Steinway Hall. This year, he returns to Houston to make his home as a faculty member at the University of Houston Moores School of Music.
Winds + Piano is the final main stage concert of WindSync’s annual Onstage Offstage Chamber Music Festival, a week of events connecting the people and places of Houston through chamber music experiences.
