DESCRIPTION:Explore films that grace us with representations of authentic elderhood\, and teach us the essentials of aging wisely.\nThe most compelling films about wise elderhood serve as journeys into mythic territory — offering daunting trials\, vital awakenings\, necessary sacrifices\, and healing transformations. Movies bring the archetypes to life\, gracing us with unique characters embodying essentials of authentic elderhood: generativity\, integrity\, reflection\, reconciliation\, and the befriending of mystery. Depth psychology\, mythic imagination\, and the language of dreams will guide our expansive consideration of remarkable cinematic elders\, observing and amplifying the values\, attitudes\, and tasks of later life individuation. This seminar will include multimedia lecture\, analysis of multiple film clips\, cross-cultural ways of knowing\, and practice uncovering metaphor and meaning via cinema’s fundamental language of dream.

DESCRIPTION:Care for the sacred aspects of yourself with these basics from ancient Tibetan spiritual traditions.\nMany wisdom traditions describe the flow of energy within the body\, which is vital for both physical and spiritual well-being. But most of us have never learned about this powerful layer of our experience. In this series\, we’ll learn about Tibetan teachings on the structure of the vajra (or subtle) body\, and some simple but profound meditations to help us tune into the body’s energy and get out of our own way so it can flow more freely. You’ll also receive weekly “homework” assignments for activities that can both recharge your vital energy\, and help you to notice what drains you. By the end of this course\, you’ll know the ancient Tibetan basics of caring for this sacred aspect of yourself.

DESCRIPTION:No Italian? No problem! In our online Italian for Beginners – A1S1 class\, you will learn everyday words and phrases to help you speak Italian with confidence. Our dedicated Italian teachers will help you establish strong foundations in the Italian language\, focusing on proper pronunciation\, basic grammar\, and useful vocabulary. Learn Italian quickly and join our wonderful community here at the Italian Language School.\nDates: Wednesdays\, May 1 through June 12\nTime: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.\nL ocation: Online via Zoom\nPrice: $202.50 ICCC Members | $225 Non-members\nCancellation Policy: Tuition is non-refundable\, but we offer tuition credit toward a future group class if you cancel 48 hours in advance of start of the first class. Tuition credit is valid for six months from the start date of the course.
