SUMMARY:The TUNNEL by BIG ART
DESCRIPTION:Discovery Green invites you on a journey to a bright future this fall at The TUNNEL. Visitors will experience 12-foot-tall structures arranged to form a 100-foot-long tunnel of magical light and sound. Other visitors may serve as “pilots” using an interactive device to manipulate the array and guide your path. Over 150 LED bars are pixel-mapped to create a vortex of light\, pulling visitors through. This interactive art installation was created by the Canadian group BIG ART and the tour producer is Creos.

DESCRIPTION:The Japan-America Society of Houston is pleased to announce that the Japanese Festival of Houston will be held in Hermann Park on September 7-8\, 2024.\nJapan Festival Houston 2024 is timed to coincide with Meiji Modern: Fifty Years of New Japan\, which will be on view at The Museum of Fine Arts\, Houston (MFAH) from July 7 through September 15\, 2024. This landmark showcase of art from Japan’s Meiji Era (1868-1912) will provide an enriching backdrop to the Festival.\nJapan Festival Houston is a free\, family-friendly event held in Houston’s Hermann Park that offers a weekend filled with a variety of cultural activities. Enjoy the rich cultural heritage of Japan with traditional and contemporary performances of Japanese music\, dance and martial arts\, Japanese/Japanese-inspired food\, as well as demonstrations and displays of Ikebana flower arrangement\, tea ceremony\, origami\, bonsai and more.
