Her creativity straddles public art\, graphic design\, and studio fine art. Lauren works out of Stamford\, Connecticut. Trevor Lightsy works out of New York City in a variety of media including illustration\, painting\, and murals. Trevor studied at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta\, Georgia. Lauren is a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholar and Trevor is a long time Jackie Robinson Foundation volunteer. The Jackie Robinson Foundation was created in 1973 after Jackie Robinson’s death through the efforts of Jackie’s wife\, Rachel Robinson\, to perpetuate the legacy her husband.

Jensen Dr.\, Houston\, TX 77003\nIn French with English surtitles.\nDuration: approximately 2h30 with intermission.\nThis play is appropriate for high school audiences and adults due to language.\nCreated at the Théâtre du Palais Royal in Paris in 2005\, the comedy TOC TOC was written by Laurent Baffie and has been seen by millions of spectators around the world.\nLaurent Baffie: “I always try to put people in situations where they would not normally meet. As a child I had an obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) myself\, and at the time\, people didn’t talk about it. As I researched the subject\, I realized that it was a serious issue and that it needed to be treated with sensitivity\, without making fun of the people affected.”\n​\nIn this play\, six patients with six different obsessive-compulsive disorders meet in the waiting room of Dr Stern\, a specialist in the treatment of OCD. This internationally renowned neuro-psychiatrist only consults in France once every 2 or 3 years\, and never sees the same patient twice. But the doctor’s plane is stuck in Frankfurt. To pass the time\, Fred\, Sandie\, Blanche\, Marie\, Lili and Bob get to know each other and share their stories and their respective conditions. The final result is some real therapy\, along with a lot of bickering and humor along the way. A light\, funny play that tries to dispel all the preconceptions about OCD sufferers.​

Jensen Dr.\, Houston\, TX 77003\nIn French with English surtitles.\nDuration: approximately 2h30 with intermission.\nThis play is appropriate for high school audiences and adults due to language.\nCreated at the Théâtre du Palais Royal in Paris in 2005\, the comedy TOC TOC was written by Laurent Baffie and has been seen by millions of spectators around the world.\nLaurent Baffie: “I always try to put people in situations where they would not normally meet. As a child I had an obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) myself\, and at the time\, people didn’t talk about it. As I researched the subject\, I realized that it was a serious issue and that it needed to be treated with sensitivity\, without making fun of the people affected.”\n​\nIn this play\, six patients with six different obsessive-compulsive disorders meet in the waiting room of Dr Stern\, a specialist in the treatment of OCD. This internationally renowned neuro-psychiatrist only consults in France once every 2 or 3 years\, and never sees the same patient twice. But the doctor’s plane is stuck in Frankfurt. To pass the time\, Fred\, Sandie\, Blanche\, Marie\, Lili and Bob get to know each other and share their stories and their respective conditions. The final result is some real therapy\, along with a lot of bickering and humor along the way. A light\, funny play that tries to dispel all the preconceptions about OCD sufferers.​

DESCRIPTION:Reeves Art + Design is pleased to announce their upcoming solo exhibition for Houston-based artist Orna Feinstein titled “Full Circle.” The exhibition will be on view October 4thth – October 25th\, 2024. The opening reception will take place on Friday\, October 4th from 6:00 PM – 9:00PM. Admission is free and open to the public.\nOrna has always been interested in the cross section between nature and art. Early on she pursued a degree in chemistry\, but soon realized that her passion lay in the arts instead of a lab. Shortly after she moved to Houston in 1984 she began studying printmaking at the Glassell School of Art of the Museum of Fine Arts\, Houston. She then went to the University of Houston and earned her BFA in sculpture.\n“Full Circle” looks to explore the motif of concentric circles throughout the extensive body of Orna Feinstein’s work. Fascinated by nature and botany\, she finds inspiration in the organic geometry of tree trunk rings\, wood grain\, and cellular images. While originally focused on exploring these elements through printmaking\, she soon began experimenting beyond paper. Her investigation led her to expand her practice to concrete\, plexiglass\, fabric\, and beyond. BOX 13 ArtSpace is delighted to present Back BOX gallery “los archivos” \, an exhibition of sculptural and photo-based works by Mexico City-based artist Elizabeth Chang. Moving to our Window BOX gallery space we have “PUSH/PULL”\, a transdisciplinary exhibition project\, showcases new works by aisha tida\, ARCOS\, and Leila Mnekbi in the Window BOX gallery. Centering intimate interactive dance and sound performances within a quilted installation\, PUSH/PULL invites audience-participants to explore notions of authorship and agency while questioning the patterns\, loops\, and illusions that we wish to escape. Finally Cody Arnall is exhibiting an installation\, “When You’re Done Dying”\, in the Front BOX Gallery. “When You’re Done Dying” \, is an immersive experience of light emitted from sculptural recreations of abandoned business signage manipulated by indiscernible forces.\nThe exhibitions continue through October 5\, 2024. Founder Kathy Wood presents her inspiring piece\, “Do You Believe\,” along with selections from her pioneering collaborations with orchestras. Additionally\, Jorge Casco introduces his piece\, “Deeply Rooted\,” a compelling fusion of raw hip-hop\, subtle symphonic elements\, and a touch Houston street culture\, influenced by both Rennie and Kathy. Special guest Olympian and FLY alum Jeffrey Louis “BBoy Jeffro” hits the stage with his piece “PRIMYE”\, symbolizes championing oneself. The event on October 4-6\, 2024\, at the Hyatt Regency-Galleria\, 2626 Sage Road\, Houston\, TX. 77056. The Summit is free and open to the public.\nThe two-day Summit features leading breast health medical experts from major medical institutions who will present the latest information on breast health and survivorship. Registration is open now at sistersnetworkinc.org.\nBlack women are 42% more likely to die of breast cancer as compared to white women. Black women under age 35 are diagnosed at 2 times the rate as White women and more likely die at 3 times the rate.\nOur National Black Breast Cancer Summit” is needed now more than ever\,” stated Karen E.
