Just in time for the holidays, Houston's collaborative spirit is in full force with the launch of the "Choose Local" campaign. This initiative calls on residents of Houston and the surrounding areas, including Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Brazoria, Galveston, Liberty, Waller, Chambers, Austin and San Jacinto counties, to patronize local businesses and support the local creative community.

The 2017 East End Street Fest con Corazón took place on the award-winning Navigation Esplanade on Saturday, October 21st. In partnership with the Houston East End Chamber of Commerce, the Greater East End Management District-produced festival returned for its sixth year. Festival goers reported that this year's festival was the best one yet. With a fully-activated kid zone, over 60 artisan vendors, thirteen local vendors, and a full day's worth of musical and dance entertainment, the 2017 East End Street Festival con Corazón, benefiting Hurricane Harvey Relief welcomed over 5,000 attendees to the Navigation Esplanade in the heart East End Houston.
