‘Umbrellas Over the Esplanade’ to Debut on Navigation Esplanade

Last Piece Of Houston’s Light Rail System Close To Completion
Right now the East End light rail line stops a few blocks short of the Magnolia Transit Center on Harrisburg. Metro was going to build an underpass at the Hughes Street railroad crossing, but cancelled those plans because of worries over contaminated soil. The agency is now putting the finishing touches on a new overpass that will carry both cars and trains.
Rotary Club of Harrisburg Presents Houston Fire Station 20 with Custom BBQ Grill
The Rotary Club of Harrisburg presented Houston Fire Station 20 with a new, custom made 8-foot trailer-mounted BBQ pit with smoker and firebox. The gift was in appreciation for the service from the firefighters at Station 20 who have dedicated their lives to the protection of life and property, especially for residents and businesses in East End Houston.
East End Houston’s Guadalupe Plaza Park to Reopen July 30
Guadalupe Plaza Park will officially reopen on July 30, 2016 with a family-friendly event from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Mayor Sylvester Turner, Houston Parks Director Joe Turner, and District H Council Member Karla Cisneros will be on hand to turn on the new splash pad water feature.
