Barrio Dogs, Inc. has been working in the East End since 2010 to educate and empower residents to address overpopulation and improve conditions for the animals around them. Barrio Dogs’ strategy is focused on three important points: 1) pets are a lifelong commitment and must receive proper care and treatment, 2) education and spay neuter are the only humane and effective methods of controlling animal overpopulation, and 3) zero tolerance for animal mistreatment and neglect will create safer, healthier, higher property value communities.
Barrio Dogs has a few upcoming events that they could use support from the East End community. If you’re interested in getting involved, please email gloria@barriodogs.org.
