Symphonic Winds and Symphonic Band Concert

The Symphonic Winds is the University of Houston’s second concert ensemble, conducted by Cameron Kubos. The Symphonic Winds is dedicated to performing the highest level of standard literature as well as new music for concert band and performs concerts throughout the year. The group regularly performs around the Houston area and has performed at the College Band Directors National Association Conference.
The Symphonic Winds can be heard on multiple professional recordings conducted by David Bertman and Dana Praderv and Symphonic Band The Symphonic Band is the University of Houston’s third concert ensemble, conducted by Sean Phelan. The Symphonic Band is dedicated to performing the highest level of standard literature as well as new music for concert band and performs concerts throughout the year. The band’s goal is to introduce students to new music and offer music education students the opportunity to work with their peers. The group is made up of music majors alongside non-music majors who choose to continue playing while working on their degrees
