A new bar in the East End is hoping for some good gris gris. Voodoo Queen is a concept from the same group that renovated Moon Tower Inn.
The bar doesn’t seem to be trying to attract a fancy crowd, and there’s a bit of tongue-in-cheek vulgarity that may be a turn off for some and refreshing to others. But patrons will find a nice mix of tiki cocktails and New Orleans-style sandwiches. A $5 house margarita comes at a pretty nice price point compared with other places around town.
With pinball machines, dart boards and pool tables-not to mention a rather gutsy jukebox selection-this spot has East End dive bar down.
