The Menil Collection will open “Janet Sobel: All-Over” on February 23, 2024, featuring some thirty paintings and drawings made by artist Janet Sobel (1893–1968). This exhibition, the first to focus on Sobel’s highly accomplished and influential abstract paintings, will explore the artist’s work as one of the first to pioneer a new approach to modern abstraction known as “all-over” painting.
