Third Annual Houston Art Bike Parade & Festival on May 11

May 11 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Houston Parks Board and the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art in coordination with Houston Independent District (HISD) present the third annual Houston Art Bike Parade & Festival on Saturday, May 11. Building on the success of the previous two years, the 2024 event will feature exciting art and community activations that connect Houstonians through art and creativity while celebrating the city’s parks and greenspaces. This free event offers a great opportunity to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend in an outdoor setting that connects and inspires Houston’s youth.
The parade lineup begins at 9 a.m. in historic MacGregor Park. At 10 a.m., the Art Bike Festival opens to the public, with activations for Mother’s Day — such as photobooths, craft tables for children to create Mother’s Day gifts, an area for moms to kickback and enjoy alcohol-free “momosas” sponsored by Tampico and more — as well as engaging booths from local community partners for all to enjoy. At 10:15 a.m., the Art Bike Parade begins, featuring art bikes created by community groups and students across local schools, such as Smith Elementary School and Blackshear Elementary School. At noon, the Houston Art Bike Awards Ceremony begins with event partners announcing and distributing awards for bicycle decoration creativity and an opportunity to hear more about the master plan vision for MacGregor Park.
The Art Bike Festival is presented in partnership with Houston Parks and Recreation Department, the Mayor’s Office of Special Events, and Houston Independent School District.
