Monty Python and the Holy Grail Interactive Quote-a-Long Screening

July 26 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

The Friends of River Oaks Theatre presents a new Quote-A-long version of the comedy cult classic, with wild pre-film fun including music and contests starting at 7:15PM. This is a community partnership event with MFAH Film. It’s a sidesplitting cinematic event that honors the timeless humor of Monty Python while inviting fans to quote, laugh, and sing-a-long like never before. Come in costume and join in the pre-show costume and silly walk contest. Get ready to journey into a world of Medieval madness, coconut-clacking horses, and unforgettable one-liners in this uproarious Quote-A-long version of a comedy classic.
King Arthur, accompanied by his squire, recruits his Knights of the Round Table, including Sir Bedevere the Wise, Sir Lancelot the Brave, Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-As-Sir-Lancelot and Sir Galahad the Pure. On the way, Arthur battles the Black Knight who, despite having had all his limbs chopped off, insists he can still fight. They reach Camelot, but Arthur decides not to enter, as “it is a silly place.
Musicians Ryan Adam Wells and Brad Torres will perform before the film, together known as Jukebox Trainwreck, who promise to “Make all your favorite songs crash and burn”. In this special set they will incorporate renaissance, folk and silly songs fitting of the Pythons. Ryan is a Houston based Alternative-Country singer/songwriter, storyteller, actor and is 1/3 of comedy troupe Sound & Fury. Brad has written and staged several musicals, he is an actor and musician who has performed at the Texas Renaissance Festival.
