Cyclists Enjoy Taste of Fall at Park to Port Ride

Cyclists enjoyed the first taste of fall weather in Houston this morning by taking part in the sold out Park to Port ride, put on by the Hermann Park Conservancy. Riders started at the Bill Coats Bridge in Hermann Park and rode all the way to Brady’s Landing Restaurant in the East End before turning around heading back to the park.

Hermann Park and the Houston Ship Channel share more in common than just the bayou system that links them-they were both founded in 1914. Thanks to significant improvements underway, 35 miles of trails along the bayou will soon allow bicyclists to ride all the way to the Houston Ship Channel. The Park to Port Bike Ride was a celebration of this development and included birthday cake so participants could say “Happy Birthday” to Hermann Park and the Houston Ship Channel.
