Space City Credit Charities is proud to announce it has opened its 2019 scholarship application season. Space City Charities was formed in 2011 to honor a lifetime of service by board member Verna Wolf and her dedication to service of others. To date, Space City Charities has awarded $142,350.

Take a voyage without leaving the dock. Houston Maritime Museum (HMM) unveiled an emblematic interactive mural of a large ocean liner on the façade of its new building in the Eastside of Houston located on Navigation and Canal Boulevard in the East End. At the helm of the project was muralist Anthony Rose and David Maldonado his collaborator. Guests are encouraged to take pictures in this oversized postcard and make their own stories.
The Andar Conmigo exhibition hosted in Alexander Arzú’s personal studio located inside of Art Square Studios (2315 Commerce Street, Suite 17) will run from April 4th – 6th, 2019 from 4pm-8pm each day for free, with the artist and curator present. There are opportunities for private viewings for purchase through Eventbrite.
Talento Bilinque de Houston (TBH) has placed an open call for artists of ALL mediums. Their gallery for the month of April will follow the theme of “Expressions in Afro Latinx Identity.” This month-long exhibit is an exploration of self-identification as a person of the Afro Latinx community.
Sound Exchange will present a series of performances and events to introduce the store’s new location at 101 N. Milby Street, in Houston’s East End. The eclectic lineup affirms the mission of owners Kevin Bakos and Kurt Brennan to promote unique listening experiences and support local culture. Signaling continuity, the inaugural performance will feature an opening set by noise artist Austin Caustic who, earlier this month, delivered an intense visceral work that closed out the store’s previous location in Montrose.
