Live art demonstrations, local food trucks, and a cosplay contest were just a few of the highlights of the East End Street Market’s 1st Annual East End Comic Fan Festival. Vendors displayed rare and unique comic books and figurines while artists were hard at work producing comic fan art on site as well as offering one-off pieces from their portfolios.
Tourists and Houston residents will have an opportunity to experience the unique flavor of the East End, Houston’s birthplace, during Super Bowl LI. The completion of the METRORail Green Line along Harrisburg Boulevard will allow history, photography, and foodie enthusiasts ample opportunity to indulge in what the East End has to offer.
The Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football, or (CONCACAF), has selected 14 stadiums in 13 cities to host the 2017 Gold Cup, a soccer tournament that’s held every two years. Two of the matches will be played at our own BBVA Compass Stadium on July 11.
FrenetiCore Dance, in collaboration with acclaimed hip-hop crew Inertia Dance Company, presents its first full-length dance concert since last winter’s The Snow Queen. Inspired by the resurgence of 90s popular culture in fashion, music, and iconography, Youth of a Nation offers a nostalgic retrospective of the decade through ten dances by acclaimed Houston choreographers, including Sarah Brotherton, Cori Miller Capetillo, Laura Harrell, Bryan Paul (Inertia), Ty’Esha Lewis (Inertia), Jennifer Hart Salter, Tory Pierce, and Heather VonReichbauer.
Thousands of Houstonians flocked to the Navigation Esplanade on Saturday, October 15 to enjoy the sights and sounds of the annual East End Street Fest.
