Open Artist/Vendor Call: Expressions in Afro Latinx Identity: A Multimedia Art Exhibit

Talento Bilinque de Houston (TBH) has placed an open call for artists of ALL mediums. Their gallery for the month of April will follow the theme of “Expressions in Afro Latinx Identity.” This month-long exhibit is an exploration of self-identification as a person of the Afro Latinx community. The exhibition is open to all mediums and is limited to 3 submissions per artist. All submissions are subject to approval. The gallery will be on display from April 1 – April 29, 2019. Artists interested in contributing to this exhibit may contact eliana@tbhcenter.org for additional information.

This call is also open to vendors who want to participate in the opening reception to be held on Thursday April 4, 2019 from 7pm-10pm. Admission to the opening night will be free and open to the public. Stay tuned for more details! East End Improvement Corporation (EEIC) and Wells Fargo unveiled the first of seven BCycle “Art Stations” as part of a community program to connect residents and visitors to public art and businesses in East End Houston. The unveiling ceremony included the donation of 36 bicycles and helmets to East End students in coordination with local non-profit Wellness On Wheels (WOW). 
longest-serving urban farms, Finca Tres Robles, is getting ready for some big changes in the year ahead. Umbrella organization Small Places is transitioning to a 501(c)(3) to help revamp the farm and increase its impact in serving the East End community. In the months ahead, Finca Tres Robles will be celebrating 7.5 years of work in the East End as it pauses field operations at the end of 2021 to prepare for its next chapter.
