Save the Date: Piñatafest to Return to Navigation Esplanade for Cinco de Mayo

The East End Foundation is thrilled to announce the 2nd annual Piñatafest for Saturday, May 5th, 2018 on the Navigation Esplanade in East End Houston! The Piñata Festival’s vision is to celebrate Houston’s connection to folk art and funk as well as our neighborhood’s cultural traditions.

Speaking of funk, this year’s festival graphic was lovingly inspired by one of last year’s amazing piñata sculptures, titled “Piñatabstract”, created by the talented Rio Grande Valley-based artist, Josué Ramírez.

Check out the photos from last year’s festival at eastendfoundation.org/pinatafest.

We look forward to the festivities, including live music, an outdoor juried sculpture exhibition, crafts and free family-friendly activities.

The 2nd Annual Piñatafest is possible in part to support from partners including Houston Arts Alliance, the City of Houston Office of Cultural Affairs, Houston First, East End District, TXRX Labs, and Garcia’s Party Store.

More details to follow including a call for artists and volunteers. Stay tuned!
